Disquiet Junto is a weekly recording project run by the wonderful Marc Weidenbaum (
disquiet.com) and this project teamed us all up with the very popular weekly Naviar Haiku project (
naviarlab.tumblr.com), as Marc was asked to provide the Haiku for them. I really liked the composition, given my limited accordion skills...it made the piece necessarily simple as a requirement. There are some sine and square wave tones in the background, as well, that I edited in. As with many of these tracks, the drum set was not recorded first, giving me a lot of freedom to make what I consider to be drum collages, more than grooves. If it/they groove(s), then that's icing on the cake. This was recorded in 2014, around Halloween time. Because there were decorations up.
Oh, also, the melody was "composed" -- but, I just kept pressing buttons on the button side of the instrument, until it sounded like the voicings belonged!
