For clarity, Linus Lemont is the same artist associated with 'Be a Waterwolf' / 'Barking Cows,' and any recordings (such as on this site) attributed to "Jess" Lemont. For complicated reasons at the moment, I have only included my name change, "Linus" (from Jess,) in music sites. So, for those linked here through social media, you are on the correct page. I'm looking forward to when I can erase this paragraph, because it will mean that the rest of my accounts have my preferred name. This album is special to me in that it coincides with the time shortly leading up to and just after an important process really began to move more quickly...and that is all. Now, time to move on with the "About this Release" segment, which I have tried to keep as brief as possible. . .
Not to be too general, but--this is heavily influenced by peers I've played with in recent years, several favorite musicians, baseball, and, possibly even more so than baseball...basketball (i.e. More recent drumming influenced by Steph Curry).
I rely very heavily on visual stimuli for performance/mixing/any number of musical decisions. So, I should add that the biggest personal stamp for me is synesthesia, in most cases, since I do often--if not always--play with just a bunch of stuff going on. It is because of this that I decided to include digital artwork for each track...though there may be a repeated image. Can't remember, at the moment.
The title, Marginalia, beat out "The Tiny Album II" ever so slightly. I like the presentation of the word, and am not trying to imply that I find the material to be sort of previously-rejected/uninspired. This all took a lot of work! However, I suppose I did develop ideas off of various scraps that, independently, would be nonessential. Still...that could be true of any context-dependent material until isolated from its context, so, yes. Yes, meaning that I'm about to type more and more of what might be considered marginalia and ought to put an end to this, now. MLB Draft Day just ended, and I am having trouble not focusing on the first two rounds/supplemental rounds. It has taken several days to just upload everything, and I blame sports.

--Although, an alternate explanation I have for the title is that, should this release not really elicit any buzz, the title will become more appropriate. My friend, Anton, who was involved with the post-production and played on a track was worried somewhat about me using 'Marginalia,' so, maybe I'm really typing all of this to him! I hope plenty of people do care somewhat, at some point, about Marginalia! If not, I'll know I should've listened to Anton.
